Latinos In Action (LIA) is a leadership class that empowers students to mentor others, serve their community, and prepare for college and careers.
LIA students are held to high expectations of respect and integrity. We develop qualities essential to be leaders on campus and role models in and out of the classroom.

What You'll Learn

Communication skills (interpersonal skills, Multilingual development in reading, writing, speaking, Oral presentations)
Leadership & responsibility - Time management and goal setting - Teamwork, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, professionalism, civic engagement, mentorship training
College/Career Planning - Career exploration projects, college tours, scholarship exploration, personal essays, resume building, interview skills, personal finance, etc.
Student Expectations
As an LIA student, you will
- Mentor and support other students (underclassmen and elementary students)
- Wear the LIA uniform during tutoring and service activities
- Maintain a 2.5 GPA each quarter and C or higher in all classes
