Physical Education

  • The purpose of this course is to enable students to develop knowledge of the anatomy and physiology   related  to athletic injuries and skills related to the nature, prevention,care, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. This course is taken during semester one and is a prerequisite for the course First Aid and Safety taken during semester two.

  • The purpose of this course is to develop and enhance healthy behaviors that influence lifestyle choices and student health and fitness.

  • The purpose of this course is to provide students with opportunities to acquire basic knowledge and skills in weight training that may be used in physical fitness pursuits today, as well as in later life. The course is designed to improve muscular strength, endurance, and to enhance body image.

  • The purpose of this course is to provide students with opportunities to acquire knowledge of team sports play, develop skills in selected team sports, and to maintain and/or improve their personal fitness.

  • Personal Fitness course is a foundational component of the physical education curriculum, designed to promote lifelong health and wellness. This semester-long course is mandatory for graduation and accounts for 0.5 credit toward the state's physical education requirement
